Alcohol Play, DVD & Resource Pack

The Buckinghamshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) and partners are today launching a brand new initiative to tackle the issue of alcohol-related harms.
The project, which is funded by the national charity DrinkAware, Buckinghamshire County Council (including Healthy Schools and Extended Services) and the Buckinghamshire DAAT, is aimed at increasing understanding and raising awareness of the issues involved with alcohol consumption for young people between the ages of 11 and 13.  The project is part of a wider alcohol information package which is provided to young people.

The project is designed to engage young people at an early stage to avoid harm arising from alcohol misuse.  Positive messages will be promoted in order to support young people’s health, well-being and to minimise the risks associated with alcohol use.

The play is called “WHAT NOW?” and will be shown in five schools across Buckinghamshire during January and February 2009.

The play will then be made into an interactive DVD and form part of a resource pack which will be available to teachers to work through with young people.

The play can be viewed online by clicking here.
