Naphyrone (NRG-1)

Street names: NRG-1, NRG1, Energy-1, Energy1, Rave

Naphyrone is a stimulant produced using a chemical called Pyrovalerone (a Class C drug developed in the 1960s as an appetite suppresent and to reduce fatigue).

It is a fine white powder with a tendency to form clumps that is snorted or swallowed.

Short-Term Effects include:

  • Increased heart rate
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Increased attention & awareness
  • Reduced appetite

Risks

  • Unclear - no toxicity data available at this time
  • It has been reported that sudden cessation of heavy use can cause withdrawal systoms such as anxiety or depression

Long-Term Effects

  • Unknown

Law:  Naphyrone is a Class B drug
